Wage and Salary Administration

Wage and Salary Administration deals with all aspects of employee compensation. Today's workforce demands a compensation program that not only is competitive but also rewards outstanding individual performance and offers maximum tax advantages. We assist employers in developing a flexible total compensation program that meets the employer's objectives, and at the same time, provides incentives for improved employee performance.

Our first step in establishing such a program is to develop a corporate compensation philosophy that clearly defines program objectives and expectations. From this foundation, all policies and procedures can be developed and measured.

Employee Benefits

In today's economy, the competition for quality employees is fierce. Therefore, your human resources program must actively address not only attracting, but also retaining productive employees who contribute to your organization's success. Many times, the benefits package is as much a factor as salary in an employee's decision to accept a job offer or to change jobs. At EBS Consulting, we believe that employee benefits are of vital importance to the successful recruitment, retention, and motivation of employees.

Organizational Development

Organizational development is a planning process, a culture identification process, an educational process and the means by which organizations increase effectiveness and assimilate organizational change. Organizations are changing today faster than ever. Mergers, acquisitions, and cutbacks are all occurring in short timeframes. It is important that the human resource element is recognized as a vital component in this process.

Organizational development covers a wide variety of issues depending on the company, but most successful organizational development plans include the following elements:

  • A process of assessing an organization, in order to plan needed changes
  • Strategic Business Planning which develops ideas, strategies, and techniques that help an organization manage change
  • A process, including manuals, policies and procedures, forms, and programs that effectively communicate company objectives
  • A method for implementing change and strategies for dealing with issues
  • A way of identifying the corporate culture and business style
  • A Performance Management process for improving the effectiveness of the organization
  • A technique that can spotlight areas that need improvement & implementing changes in a logical, effective way
  • A company wide communication program
  • A program for building trust & team spirit among all levels of individuals
  • Training Programs that adequately prepares employees for their employment experience
  • An effective management development program that encourages competency and growth from within the organization

Because human resources professionals do not always have a comprehensive background in organizational development, many companies look outside for a consultant to assist their human resource staff. The role of an outside consultant as a change agent has several advantages: independence, objectivity, perspective, and expertise.

Health and Safety

Reducing workplace risks and eliminating employee injuries and illnesses is not an option in today's marketplace because of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970. It is a critical component in the cost of doing business and must be an integral element of corporate goals and objectives.

The administration of a successful and effective Health & Safety program is a time consuming and demanding task. However, it can provide the mechanism for accomplishing corporate safety objectives and a means for ongoing and long-lasting employee protection. A Certified Safety Consultant can facilitate a pro-active Health & Safety program providing a platform for continuous organizational improvement.

The components of a world-class safety program include the following:

  • COMPREHENSIVE OSHA COMPLIANCE
  • EFFECTIVE POLICIES & PROCEDURES
  • EXTENSIVE EMPLOYEE EDUCATION
  • SUCCESSFUL ACCIDENT PREVENTION & REVIEW
  • PRACTICAL WORKERS' COMPENSATION MANAGEMENT

If your organization is interested in a world-class safety program, EBS Consulting has the specialists on staff to facilitate that process. Our Clients thrive on the relationships we have developed and believe those relationships add significant value to their overall safety effort.

Human Resources
There are two major roles for human resources professionals today: the strategic role and the operational role.

The strategic role places emphasis on the people in the organization as valuable resources representing a significant investment by their employer, and so the strategic focus of human resources must be long-term in order for organizational planning to be effective.

EBS Consulting assists employers in determining the strategic focus of their human resources programs.

The operational role encompasses activities that are both tactical and administrative in nature. Compliance with employment regulations must be assured, applicants must be interviewed, new employees must be oriented to the organization, safety problems must be resolved and wages and benefits must be administered.

EBS Consulting assists employers in evaluating and developing sound practices and procedures that will complement their efforts to attract, motivate and retain productive employees.

Mergers and Acquisitions
Mergers and acquisitions can create extremely stressful situations for employees whose security is suddenly threatened. At the same time, management must be responsible for ensuring a smooth transition with minimal impact on productivity. The corporations that have been most successful in mergers are the ones that have spent a great deal of time in planning, analysis and communication. Identifying and understanding the key human resources issues involved is critical.

The professionals at EBS Consulting know how to help companies reduce the time and expense of evaluating a merger situation and properly managing the transition of employee benefit plans, personnel policies and procedures so as to have a positive impact on employee morale.

On-Site Wellness Programs
EBS Consulting has partnered with HealthSTAT to provide On-Site Wellness Programs designed to benefit organizations of all sizes. HealthSTAT is the premiere provider of ON-SITE Health Risk, Disease Management and Primary Care Services delivered at the worksite. Through a proven process of identifying individuals with high health risks, followed by focused medical intervention via convenient worksite clinics, the HealthSTAT service model facilitates improvement in individual health status and results in a reduction in medical and prescription drug coverage costs, as well as a decrease in overall absenteeism.

The Service...In contrast to traditional disease management, the HealthSTAT model offers early identification of health risks followed by proactive, focused on-site intervention. HealthSTAT staffs on-site clinics with mid-level primary care providers, such as Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants, who establish a personal relationship with employees. Although tremendous emphasis is placed on prevention and education, clinic practitioners also provide episodic primary care services and prescribe medications when necessary. Applying evidence-based clinical guidelines to ensure quality healthcare for employees with identified high health risks, the on-site clinic practitioner becomes a valuable resource for improving health status while simultaneously improving the company's bottom line.

The Results…Employers gain greater control over the rising cost of health benefits, while employees have improved access to a convenient, personal medical care resource. As a result, employers save money, the employees’ individual health improves, and employees are more skilled in navigating an increasingly complex healthcare system.

The Bottom Line…The HealthSTAT service model represents a “WIN-WIN” situation. By focusing on those individuals with the greatest health risks, the costs for providing health care benefits decreases while the health of employees improves, reducing the impact of increasing healthcare costs for both employers and employees.
