With recent legislation restricting certain aspects of employee benefit plans, some benefit experts believe employers may be forced to consider benefit cutbacks in the future. With pressures to contain costs ever increasing, greater efficiencies in the benefits approach, more tailoring to individual needs in the growth of flexible benefit plans and cafeteria plans is expected. In order to make benefit plans more effective, there will be continued demands to improve all aspects of plan design, funding, administration and communication.
